Why do you have to trash the author? Why do you have to question what HE/SHE was thinking when they wrote it? WHY DO YOU HAVE TO WONDER ABOUT COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT AND AUTHOR'S (in case of a book or whatever) PERMISSION WHEN WE'RE TALKING FANFIC OVER HERE!? Do you all not realize that we're talking about something we made up and WE ARE ALL BREAKING THE LAW? I mean, it's not like I ask for Josh Schwartz's permission to slash Ryan and Seth, you know? I DON'T. I do it because I like it and if Josh doesn't like it then he can very much try and SHUT DOWN INTERNET.
My god. I love fanfiction and the fandoms but at times they really do become too freaking much. That's why amazing people, writers and whatnot give and up and say, "You know what? Just fuck you and I'm not gonna write, you're being that much of an asshole." Really. Writers leave the fandoms, at times, because they are sick of being the new "meta" in an comm or in a person's journal. God. You don't like a story, you don't know why it was nominated to an award, you DON'T KNOW WHY PEOPLE LIKE IT? Then just shut the fuck up and read something you DO GET. Easy as that.
At times I wonder if I'm being mocked, if what I write (I have put Ryan through a lot) is being talked about in communities or personal journals, then I go all "nah, I'm not that important for people to care about little old me" and then I find that one writer, whom I totally think kicks ass and has a level of writing that I'd have to be one thousand years old and then be reborn to even DREAM of achieving, is having her work scrutinized like under a microscope. No matter what she writes, is what she wants to write. God, you don't like it then stop reading it! And STOP TALKING ABOUT HER LIKE SHE'S THIS... PERSON WHO WILL NOT FIND OUT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT HER!
It just pisses me off, for real, and if I ever do get mocked (I'm pretty sure I was mocked two years ago and I just put my hands over my ears and chose not to notice) I don't even know if I want to know. I like writing, I know she does too, but when people talk too much about you, when you're feelings are getting hurt all over the internet, then there's just no point in writing. It's not fun anymore, so it's a dead end. You're right, sweetie. I will miss you tons but if you feel it's right for you to leave for a while, just stop writing and take your stuff off the net, then it's your right and you should. I don't want you to get hurt, I never did, and I wish I could undo everything that has been said about you and your story.
