what the fucking billboard?
agt_spooky posted her new CW SN billboard sighting on supernatural_tv.
Putting aside for a moment the "Oh em gee, there's new SN (anything)!" squeeing, I'm not a huge fan of the whole CW advertising plan.
It's...it's green. Not a good green. And it SCREAMS "hip and flashy for the teens&twenties dem.!" which we know, and I don't care about. I may be right there in the middle of that age, but plenty of SN fans aren't. I doubt it'll be too well liked in this fandom at least. Shall see what the masses think.
However, I've gotta say, while I'm sad to lower the bar so, at least it's not a frog. And it is very different from any other network. Though it seems rather UPN-like. Hummm. I dunno, I do usually mute and not look at anything non-show most of the time, so I'm rather unsure about that stuff.
I say give 'em time to figure it out. Not that they're new to network working, but still, maybe they'll figure things out better over time. I'll get really mad if the SN adds suck, though. I might even cave and watch them. *sigh* 'Tis been too long since the last time I saw an add or anything new for the show.
Now the add itself. Argh. It's not the best pic ever (by a long shot) of our boys. And it says nothing of the show, besides that it's "scary".
If you're gonna do an add that says all but nothing of the show, if you're pulling people in with your pretty actors, use a pretty pic of them. Is that so hard? They are very pretty people!
--They are still pretty to those that love them, even when their faces are all scrunched up (or looking like a slack-jawed idoit), but they have those folks' vote already.
Most of all, this add makes me hope we'll have new promo pics soon. For better or worse.
