Simple Sunday

Jan 04, 2009 23:20

Today was just the loveliest Sunday I've had in a long time. Joe and I rolled out of bed around 12:30 and tottled on over to Barnes & Noble to pick out some new 2009 calendars. Thankfully they were having a sale from which I scored this bad boy!

This beautiful calendar focuses on the natural structure of the year rather than breaking it down into monotonous squares and numbers. It's packed with information about our world, our planet, our universe.

"We are beginning to understand that the universe is not about us, that we are not the centerpiece, in either space or time. Nor do we live in isolation from its infinite wonders; rather we are intimate and integral participants."

Beautiful!

After B&N, we popped over to Urban to see if Joe could find any new threads. That poor guy needs new clothes so bad. [We both do!] We've just been so broke for so long... :-\ I feel bad, so I demanded that we go and check out their sale today. Luckily he found some sweet deals. We hardly ever go shopping together so today was a nice change of pace. I love him so much. I'm totally eating this up with a spoon while I can. We both go back to school next Monday, so this is pretty much it for quality time until my "big, fancy job" rolls around and things start to settle down.

Soon, I promise.

^__^

We made delicious chicken tacos for lunch, so after I was nice and stuffed, I tried to tackle the laundry but ended up snuggling in a pile of blankets that were in the closet and fell asleep!! Haha! I felt like such a kid. This was a wonderfully mellow weekend. Such a welcome change of pace from the bustle of the holiday season. I've made some new discoveries as well:
