It's A Holiday

Working for the federal government has a couple of advantages, one being a fair number of paid holidays. Today is President's Day, but I'm not using it to contemplate the great (and not-so-great) presidents of times past. Nor am I using the time shopping for a mattress.

I got a very funny book for Christmas, Earth: The Book, credited to "Jon Stewart and the staff of The Daily Show," is thick and colorful and chock full of funny. Some have called it perfect bathroom reading, but it's a long enough book that you need to spend a lot of time in the bathroom. Either that or plan on taking two years to finish it.

Other bloggers post about books they've read. Chris Aylott, and old friend of mine, keeps count. He read about 50 books last year, which amazes me given that he has a demanding job, a darling daughter and a brand-new baby to deal with. Me, I'm lucky I can get through five books in a year.

Next up: My Life, the autobiography of Keith Richards. Another Christmas present. I'll let you know how it is.
