I believe I told some of you about the little cheating scandal thing in my Computer Science class. Well the day after they called us in to testify about the whole thing, I was talking to a friend about it. A girl who is friends with one of the guys who cheated explained some of the things that have happened to this kid over the past five years.
Five years ago his dad committed suicide and his brother found his body. This guy's brother graduated high school from Butler just this past summer. Over the summer this guy, his brother, and his mom went on vacation to the beach. They were staying in a hotel when the brother jumped off the balcony and committed suicide right in front of both of them. This girl told me that he is always high, and now he is in trouble with this whole cheating scandal.
This guy has been in my prayers a lot lately because I am very scared he might commit suicide also. He is very anti-social and always seems depressed. I would really appreciate it if you all prayed for him and his mom.
Stephen told me a story after I had told him all this about a situation that deals with suicide also. There was this guy who was planning on committing suicide the next day. He had a gun and everything planned. This guy prayed and told God he was going to kill himself if he did not receive some sign. The next day this guy went to work and received an email from a CYC leader. The email was nothing special, but at the bottom it said God Bless you. The guy went home and pawned his gun for money that he used to buy a playstation 2. He gave this playstation to the guy who sent him the email and said that he wanted him to have it because he had saved his life. This is a powerful, true story of how our words and actions can make a huge difference in peoples lives.
