lol life
Well, it's about time I did one... :p
So quite a few things have happened in the last ages but I'll only go back about a week or two as that is how far back I remember. XD
Well, this is probably going back three weeks now, but who cares. :p
My old laptop from Acer finally gave up, and now won't turn on, it had a good life and was set up so well at the factory that it always ran faster than machine that had processes twice as fast as it.
Untested, but probably right as far as I can tell. :p
Yup, poor lappy, it's now on my floor in the corner, I did manage to get a backup of it and I also moved a load of needed files from it not long before it died, it may still work from time to time, but it cuts out after a few minutes.
Anyway, knowing that for the last few months that it was nearing the end of it life, I got another one! XD
Yep, just the other week, I got a new Dell XPS M1710 I customized it, adding a more memory, a bigger HDD, faster Duo processor and a better GFX card.
In the end I had to cut down on a few other things as it was getting too expensive, so I cut down on the software bundle and concentrated more on hardware, as I have tonnes of software anyway. The end price came to about £1,600 (Google says: 1 600 British pounds = 3 052.64 U.S. dollars.)
Its a really cool laptop and I can play all my games on it with the gfx card in this thing. :) Anyway next... :p
Not last week, the week before, I and the family all went down to the East Midlands to visit all the rest of the family as it was my Granddad's birthday, first stop we had a photos taken by a professional childrens photographer, though I think we were a little big. XD
That took ages. So the idea is that we will get some photos and get them framed for my Granddad, Grandma and Nanna as gifts.
After that we all when to my Nanna's house and stopped at the chippy on the way. Heh, my brother had some trouble with his order though, you see, him spending most of his life in NW England has ment he obviously picked up the local dialect and he asked for a chip role or chip bap, I kept telling him that they call them cobs in the Midlands, but he wasn't having any of it. So he asked for a role, and got a every confused look back. XD
He ended up with a piece of dry bread. XD
The fish that we got from the chippy were HUGE, my Mum and Dad had to fold them in half and even then they still wouldn't fit on the plates.
Anyway, my Nanna is doing fine, still same as usual and everything, she had just had a new carpet installed when we got to her bungalow, her old carpet was 25 years old. Yikes. :p
Next day, in the morning, we went to see my Auntie Marge, she's very ill at the moment, though she seems to be coping well after her son Kevin passed a way, if you remember the journal I did about that.
But now she is seriously ill too, she has cancer in her throat, and so couldn't eat anything for ages, she couldn't get any cancer treatment because she was too weak. So the hospital have put a tube in her throat allowing her to eat some food.
She was regaining strength but now is having problems with water dripping out of her feet. When we went to see her, you could see that she was so thin, there was not much more than bones there, and her feet have swollen massively.
She also gets pains every now and again, she constantly has to take pain relief but even then some of the pains she gets cause her to scream out where she stands, and she has to knock her self out with pain release medication just to get a little sleep.
Anyway, after our shorty visit to her house, we went back to my Grandma and Granddad's and got ready to go up the road to an old restaurant called 'The Cottage' it is one of them special places that just does the best food. :D
Although the menu is limited, that is no problem for me. :p I had the best dinner there that I had, had in ages. :)
Then back home again and the weekend was over. :p
What else... ah Second Life!
Yep, I'm really getting into second life, I probably should be careful not to let it take over my first life. :p
Well, since I have a few more friends on there that are on more often, and are on while I'm on (darn timezones) I have been visiting more often too, also I've been made a Security Officer in the United Space Force group, which is good as it gives me a purpose well I'm on-line, and I usually have a little walk around the station to check everything is OK when I'm not doing anything. :)
Also, I've learn't myself LSL now, although it is still a pritty basic understanding, I have done well, and managed to pick up the language in about a day or two. So I can pritty much script now. :)
Putting my skills to the test, I created some disco light that was pritty popular amungst friends, so I might start selling them, I dunno how much for yet. However, I was thinking I could do a 50% rebate for people who reported bugs, or requested features that were implemented.
My friends had a dance at the USF airbase last night using a set of disco lights, that was good fun, Gravity gave out free ice creams and we got to talk to his bot. :D Such fun. :p I have a screen...

After that, I took my stipend to the bank, then logged off. However, not long after that then I logged back in, as I saw that Dell have now got a island on SL, so I was going around there for a while, also a few newer people on there had a great surprise when they saw me, a raptor with an ice cream appear there. XD
One of the residents even took a pic. :)

I also found a free laptop and computer there, though they're only models. :p
I have now installed Skype on laptop just today, so I should be back on that again, though I'm currently set away on there ATM, as I don't have my head set handy, and well, I'm a little busy with typing this too. :p
I have now more or less caught up with things on DA, though I'll probably start having problems keeping up again.
I still have several hundred things to look through on both SA and FA.
The comic that I have been not been working on the last few months should get done soon, it has had a huge delay because of my laptop breaking, but I also have to get a picture of my cat in a certain pose, and that's difficult. :p
Also, as there is a Manchester meet soon, I've done con badge, it's very simple, but I'll upload that at some time. :)
... and I think our boiler has broken.
Well that's all the news I can find in my little brain at the moment. :p
