LJ is a pain in the bloody ass at times
and I mean /my ass/ too.
#1 I've used various LJ posters. None except one worked good. Well of course they don't have a linux version, so I'm stuck with this web based one.
#2 Deepest sender works fine with v10 of Firefox, but the gods at Mozilla thinks because they said it's incompatible, your not allowed to say nay. So - great! I don't have Deepest sender anymore. And of course, you HAVE TO UPGRADE FF. They have to keep up with the jones.
#3 I have to disable /all security/ (no script, Ghostary, CSFire) in order to even log into LJ. Then I have to turn it ALL back on. I cannot run Firefox on this incredibly insecure OS called XP, yet to be in one site I like, I have to basically strip all my clothes off, and run out into the snow nekked in the dead of winter.
#4 the final pain in the ass. I can't find anything in linux that will download LJ entries. One program I had years ago did, but of course it was winders based.
Can someone PLEASE point me to places I can get more help learning python? Especially some sort of text editor written in python? I want to know how you can write something like that, so I can start making my own text editor, and LJ editor. I'm not making much progress. If anyone can help, they will have free upgrades and free copies of any and all python shareware I make for life.
I have three major ideas for programs; A new file manager, a really good "wordprocessor for text files" (IE: Boxer - look it up.) and things for LJ, or blogging software in general.
