Power! My kingdom for power!
Well, this is bad. Last night a sub-station about 2km from me caught fire; apprently from what I heard, read and what-not, one of those massive transformers blew, and caught fire. At first I thought arson, since we've had a string of suspecious fires lately. But that doesn't fit the MO of the pyromaniac and the location is way off.
Anyway, some of our neighbors lost power last night, and our garage lost power, when my father was in his 'boys room' doing what big-boys do in garages. Now several people are without power, along with our garage. We apparently are on a different circuit so we're fine. However, I've taken all the servers except for 2 off-line and those have UPSes with surge protectors (lightning class) I don't know how this will work out with surges and brown-outs. I'll be contacting the power company about this today. If I dissipear for a day or so, suspect our power's down too. I'll try to update via the library then, although that's going to be a trick. I'm not sure if I can access LJ, or the MU* via the library. If not, I'll e-mail some people. I know I can do that.
