You aren't god.

The only thing I think that really upsets me about people, is mediocrity. And not even just being mediocre, because I feel that usually I am just that. I am a mediocre saxophone player, a mediocre paper writer, the list could go on. But I still strive for something more. The idea of being satisfied with mediocrity doesn't work for me. How can it for you?

If you want to go into music, you work hard at your music.

If you want to go into academics, you work hard at those.

I just find it so frustrating to have some I really do care about, not care about themselves in that way. Granted, you don't know what you want to do with your life. But you should have an idea what you want to do in the next six months. And if you want to go to a big college like Columbia or NYU, or "some university in paris, wherever i get in", then you need to work at your academics. Not simply decide not to do your final term paper for one of your hardest classes, OR decide to do it late.

The way I see it, you aren't practicing HARD for any of your music auditions that you are still doing, and you aren't working HARD for any kind of academic interest that you may want to pursue. You are living on these dreams of traveling to far off places and living and studying in a country and school with a language you can't even speak. If these are your dreams, that is fine. But they aren't going to come to you. You need to work for them. By simply doing your homework, or maybe studying the language of the country you want to live in. Just donig something.

You have the potential to have such a great life, in whatever you choose to do, but you can't just let it find you. You need to make an active attempt at getting what you want. Be agressive, and stop dreaming. I mean, jesus christ, start DOING.
