Well, it's September. Back in April I meant to start posting at least once a month. That didn't happen. Then again, I was always the type of person has at least 15 notebooks with one or two entries in my attempt at keeping a journal....nice to see the internet hasn't changed that about me.
Yaoicon starts today.
Before I went for the first time last year, I said that it would probably be the only time I'd ever go. During and for a few months after, I planned on going again this year. By the time registration opened, the Canadian dollar was too low to for my liking, sitting around 86 cents to the USD. Then when DMP & June had their Kickstarter and had the $600 tier, I considered it again, but realized even with accommodations, flights and tickets paid for, it would still cost a lot for any purchasing I did down there if the dollar stayed as low as it did.
And now that the Canadian dollar has been floating around the 75 cent mark for the last month, I'm quite relieved I didn't go. It was in the low 90s when I went last year, and I thought that was bad enough.
I'd like to think that next year is a possibility, but I'll have to see how my finances are come then. I'm buying a house within the next month, which will be set up as an income property, so hopefully my coffer will be quite nicely lined by then.
the state of the canadian dollar is kill,
