Hello guys!

I’m hoping to be volunteer next year ( I’m saving money, searching flights, hotels, and so on, for almost 2 years), which will be my first time going to San Diego/California.

So yeah, I’m newbie and I have some questions, and I would be grateful if anyone answer, and please, don’t shoot me.

Thanks, your answer helped a lot!
About my "worries" with my hearing loss: I can speak relatively fluently (I don't have a strong deaf accent, and I have never had trouble with my speaking), but listening will be a little hard, because english isn't my native language (I'm brazilian, so my lip reading works better in portuguese than in english). So I'm freaking out because where I live, people have the idea that even I'm capable of understandig what people are saying and speak with them without problem, they think I'm not capable for some things, for example, presentations. This is why I wanted to know if there is some restriction or not, so that way I could go prepared to find less demanding shift.
About question 3, I tought about trying to buy a ticket, but since I live in Brazil, I would pay a high tax rate due to the currency conversion (for a ticket for 4 days, I would pay about 35% more because of taxes and bank fees), so I prefered to save this 35% that I would pay in taxes and fees to spend in the trip. This is why I want to volunteer.
About question 4, It was exactly what I wanted to know, thanks, sorry for not being clear.
