I'm sorry to hear about your tooth! Ouch!

And this is probably not what anyone else got out of that story, but your bosses need to make your level of authority clear to the other employees. If you have the power to send someone home, people should be aware of that. Speaking from an HR standpoint, it can cause problems. For example, if a person files for unemployment and you have to be a witness in a hearing.

This particular person was an independant contractor. He has his own llc. Everyone else is employees. Most people don't have any idea what I really do. But its normally not a problem. It was just this one guy who kept falling asleep. Which is like stealing from the company. Its just unexceptible. Though the ex-employee who he talked to he seemed to give a very different perspective then he did in the text message to Abe. He may have still been half asleep when he texted Abe. Iaslo told Sue if she has a problem with anyone call me and let me take care of it if Aes not around. If she had sent him home she would have problem been rude about it. Which could cause more problems. Best to be polite when dealing with misconduct. I think the guy is embarished. He didnt even come pick up his check yet.

Sleeping on the job is not LIKE stealing from the company, It's clearly stealing from the employer. In the case of a contractor it would be breach of contract to be precise. Your sister is correct that your authority must be more clearly apparent to those who work there. Just because you are a polite woman does not mean in Abe's absence that you are not in fact in charge. Part of this is because of loose roles at the company, another part of this is unconscious sexism on the part of the contractor. He probably doesn't realize he's guilty of it at all, but there you have it, a woman executive? LOL... Maybe he's discovered differently now.

Sorry about your tooth... Can you do clove? Clove is what dentists use for oral pain. It's most effective, as long as you are not allergic to it like I am. It's immediate pain relief...

Get well soon.

I heard clove is good. I didn't see any when I went to Walgreens though. The dentist didn't find a fracture. So if I have one its below where the x-ray could see. I'm having a root canal next Wednesday. The dentist says he won't know how bad it is til he opens the tooth up. He says I have an infection though since the pain is radiating. He gave me antibiotics and pain killers. I didn't eat enough yesterday before I took them. I got half way to work when I started throwing up. So Paul took me back home and I slept most of the day. Today was doing pretty good. I went to work, didn't throw up and remained conscious. Though Melissa pressed on my mouth after we got home and the entire left side of my face is hurting now. The down side of having little ones is they always manage to make injuries worse. They just don't understand. Though they are really cute.

Clove is available in the grocery store spice isle. You take one of those suckers and bite it each time you get a twinge. In the olden days drug stores carried oil of clove, but the actual thing works quite well. I hope the anti-biotics kick that infections butt, or the root canal will be not so comfy.. After the root canal make sure you have plenty of meds.
