i just finished reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows continuing my HP tradition ever since book four was released, I started reading at 7 am and pretty much didn't stop till i finished the book. I'm sure anyone who's followed the series this long will read this book and it's a pretty decent ending to an overall good series. It's very action packed and I'm sure the movie will be amazing.

Many of the deaths i found to be random and not really significant to the story, there are obviously a few exceptions such as Snape's death, but overall I felt as if she was killing people because she said she would. I know the Dark Lord was taking over and there had to be deaths obviously, but who died and who lived seemed to be chosen more at random than contributing to the story line.

The defense of Hogwarts was a classic scene and I think HP fan will enjoy it, again can't wait for this to go on the big screen.

The book seemed to create a lot more threads though before tying them all together. I felt that there were sufficient unresolved issues that you didn't need to bring up anymore. It worked though and by the last few chapters most of the threads were starting to weave together. I think more hints of the Deathly Hallows in the previous books would've made the whole series a lot more coherent (the second deathly hallow was only brought up in book 6) a hint of the first one would've been nice especially since it was an important part of the series since the philosopher's stone.

Favorite chapter hands down was Harry looking into Snape's memories, a lot of the previous events made more sense after that. The scene between Harry and Dumbledore at the end was kind of weird, though a lot of threads were resolved in that one chapter, I think there could've been a better way to do it. I was also surprised at the accuracy of some of the theories I've read about the last book, so I guess over all there were some context clues there. More hooks between books 1-3 and 5-7 though would've made the whole flow a lot nicer.

The epilogue was tempting.

Finally I was kind of expecting something but it was still funny when I saw it.
