An Amoeba hit and an online order.

Boris Dronevil - Final 2-CD Set
I had read a few things about this reissue and got a recommendation by aairplane so I finally broke down and bought this bad boy at Amoeba on Saturday. The idea behind this album is that the 2 CDs are to be played simultaneously. And since I couldn't be bothered to play both CDs at the same time, I just ripped the CDs and "mixed" them myself in Garageband.

I've only listened to the album once, but it's actually pretty good. Side Drone basically just creates background ambience that compliments Side Evil. However, on it's own, Side Drone is pretty atmospheric. Kinda creepy at the same time too.

The Cooper Temple Clause Waiting Game 2 x 7" Singles / CD Single
The second single (third if you count Damage) from the forthcoming, Make This Your Own. This is actually my favorite song off the album. I've liked it ever since the Coopers put up a live version of it on their website last year. Once again, the three b-sides spotlight TCTC's more experimental side. The CD also includes a U-Myx version of the song so now I can make yet another karoake instrumental mix!

Jarvis Don't Let Him Waste Your Time 2 x 7" Singles / CD Single
The first single proper from Jarv's solo debut. One of the best songs off the album as well. I pre-ordered the three formats (two 7"s and a CD) but the place I ordered it from only sent me one 7" and the CD. Bastards. The b-side off the CD is a spoken word piece. It's basically Jarvis telling a Grimm fairy tale. Nothing spectacular. The b-side off the 7", One Man Show, is a nice outtake from the album. The CD also contains a "Karoake" video for his infamous Running the World. Highlarious.

The Fratellis Whistle for the Choir Blue Vinyl 8" Single
I bought this because 1) I was curious. I kept seeing The Fratellis' banner ad for their album on the RecordStore.co.uk website and b) it was an 8" vinyl single. I was a little disappointed with the title track. However, the b-side (Lay Down Easy) was a pretty rocking tune. So I downloaded the whole album, Costello Music. Pretty good album. I'll be buying the US release when it's out in March.

The Exploding Hearts Guitar Romantic CD
I was finally able to find a copy of this album used. Like 4 years after the fact (and after 3 of the 4 members of the Exploding Hearts were killed in an auto accident). And as expected, this album is pretty damn good. I didn't really like the single that I bought a few years back, Modern Kicks, but Adam Cox voice isn't as annoying on the album as the single. I'll definitely have to go out and get Shattered, the "post-humous" singles/rarities comp album.

fratellis, cooper temple clause, jarvis cocker, exploding hearts, boris
