HEE HAUL

Another minimal haul...

Ginger Valor Del Corazon 2-CD Set
The second solo album from The Wildhearts lead singer. I only got through one listen last night and have concluded that it's a good album. According to his postings on the Wildhearts website, this is probably one of his most personal collection of songs. The entire album was written around the time Ginger was kicking his heroin habit, the break up from his long time girlfriend and mother to his children, and his "failed attempt" to come to L.A. and start again. The songs vary from being full out rock songs to full on country tunes. I do like the different styles. But that is because Ginger is one of a few musicians who can pull it off. The Man Who Cheated Death, which has been available on his My Space page for about a year, is still my favorite song at the moment.

Queens of the Stone Age Burn The Witch 7" Picture Disc Single
The third song from Lullabies to Paralyse. Not a song that I'm particularly fond of. But it goes good with the 2 other picture disc 7" singles from the album (Little Sister and In My Head).

Them ...Featuring Van Morrison CD
I owned this CD once before but traded it in. I found a used copy at (of all places) EB Games last October but I didn't buy it. To my suprise, it was still there when Rents and I stopped by last Sunday. $5. I really should look into more stuff from Them. For some reason, I was expecting "Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" on here when I already knew that that song was by The Animals. Duh!

Weezer AOL Sessions DVD e.p.
A "Best Buy exclusive," apparently. Given free with a purchase of any Weezer album. Since I already have all the other Weezer albums, I just bought another copy of their first album (Blue) for $8 so I could get the DVD. I'll probably trade in the CD at Amoeba later on.
