so i'm still pregnant.
i had a dr's appointment today that i was really looking forward to since i would be seeing MY doctor not just some schmuck in the practice that was available. i even stayed up late so that i would sleep right up until time to put pants on and run out the door. my appointment was at 11:30. when i got there they told me that my doctor was in the ER and they weren't sure when she would be available and did i care to see another doctor. at this point i just wanted to see somebody so i said sure and i'd call later to talk to my doctor about things.
so i go pee on the stick thingy, get weighed, take my blood pressure, then its back to the waiting room. not ten minutes later the nurse comes out and announces to everyone that the other doctor was called down to the ER to assist and they're not sure when anyone is going to be available and if anyone wants to reschedule come back and do so.
i'm so tired of this crap but i don't want to sit around all day so i go to see if i can get moved to later in the day. i ask the nurse to reschedule and if there is anything later that day. she does that breath through your teeth thing and says," i don't know, its really crazy down there. is there something you needed to do today?" "just have a baby is all, " i say. then another nurse behind me asks "when are you do?" "last saturday," i say. "then you have to get her in today!" she says. thank you!!!!!!! so they tell me to come back at 2:15 but to call first.
i end up going back in expecting to wait forever but am taken in immediately. steve barely had time to take his coat off. the doctor told me they would try and schedule an induction for friday but it might have to wait until monday depending on how busy they are. i asked her to strip my membranes, which can encourage labor to start on its own, and she said "sure!" and gave me what she called a "vigorous" stripping. MAN DID IT HURT!!!! but at this point i'm up for anything that will help. plus i've heard that the pitosin they give you when you are induced makes your contractions just AWFUL and its best to avoid it if possible.
so here i am still waiting around for something to happen feeling like someone ripped my uterus out-which technically is close to what happened. i sure hope this works! otherwise we're going to have a leprauchan baby and no body really wants that.
