Apparently
these dudes were riding the Orange Line the other day. Awesome. So awesome I could puke.
And
Stephen Colbert mocks Cosmo's Mongolia launch. That's right kids, Cosmopolitan... in Mongolia. Do you think the editors of Cosmo know where Mongolia is?
Raising Hope was so intensely sweet last night. How can a show make me laugh so hard, and then turn me on my ass and make me teary... SO EASILY? I mean... a show that isn't Scrubs. How can a show that INS'T SCRUBS do that?!
Oh, bonus? THEY USED
BARENAKED LADIES AND SARAH MCLACHLAN'S VERSION OF "GOD REST YE MERRY GENTLEMEN" IN THE EPISODE! (And
here's a version of the song with BNL and the Boston Pops. ♥ Keith Lockhart!)
For day 8 of my

Santa-os
underthepiano, The West Wing
Josh/Donna, "their daughter visiting the West Wing at Christmas"
The lights twinkle and she is amazed. In awe. Positively breath taken. She doesn't know any of this, she only knows that the lights, the ornaments, the people, everything is so pretty.
Donna smooths down the girl's hair as she talks to Devin, the Deputy Chief of Staff, they're chatting in words that a four year old doesn't understand. They chat in terms that most adults don't understand, about subjects that most people can't even comprehend but it's no matter.
Because everything is so pretty.
It is Santos's second term and he's gone all-out this time around, transforming the West Wing into a virtual winter wonderland. Even Donna has to admit, she's impressed.
Elizabeth tugs at her mother's sleeve, and even as she does, her gaze is pulled elsewhere as a staffer whizzes by with an over-sized, lit-up reindeer in her hands.
"Okay sweetie, just one minute," Donna placates and continues on her conversation while mussing her little girl's hair.
Her father whizzes around the corner and stops comically short when he sees his wife and daughter. Josh leans in an gives Donna a kiss that's not entirely workplace appropriate, though, as Chief of Staff, really, he's the one who deems what is appropriate.
"You weren't supposed to be here for another hour," he says warmly, nodding a hello to his deputy.
"Well, Lizzy was getting restless so..."
Her father leans down and scoops the girl up; she squeals because this is all so awesome. Mommy and daddy and Uncle Devin and so many pretty lights and flowers and people.
"Santa!" Elizabeth eeks out into her father's shoulder as she catches a flash of red and white whizzing by the door to the main hallway.
Josh laughs and bounces the girl on his hip, laying a kiss in her hair. "Alright, come on, Santa's ready now."
The three manage their way through the early-morning staffers buzzing about and make it to the Grey Room just in time. "It took 'Santa' an hour and a half to get ready," Josh whispers sarcastically to Donna, who can barely contain her giggles.
Matt Santos, President of the United States is dressed to the holiday nines, boots shining, stomach of his large, red coat bulging from the padding beneath.
"This is the best," Donna whispers to her husband, laughter now bubbling out of her as staffers line up to present their children to be seated on the President's lap.
Josh nods and places Lizzy back down on the ground, where she begins to bounce around from excitement.
"I'm seeing what I can do about the Easter Bunny," Josh says and slips an arm around his wife's waist.
And, like I do every year, here's an upload of
Barenaked for the Holidays. Because I love it and because I can.
