The end of HenryIV
The show I was fight captaining - Henry IV part 1 - ended last night. Last night was the first night I had seen the show and I was amazed. I saw parts of the show early on and was amazed how everything pulled together and the dedication and energy the kids poured into the show. I was proud at how far they came.
For a group of first time fighters, they came further as a whole then any other group I have seen. It was an amazing transformation and they all worked so hard. I learned so much teaching them, and I hope they had a chance to learn also.
I am kinda sad now that the show is over. I didn't just teach them fighting, I got to know them. Many nights I sat backstage with them talking about nothing, eating different shaped sour gummy candies, joking around, hackysacking, and just generally having fun. I really feel like I became friends with them all. I have to thank them for taking someone who felt ackward in a high school situation (especially after my horrible one) and making me feel right at home, like I was still young and cool (like I was ever cool). I will miss them all.
