MERF was the first time I ever performed, anywhere. I instantly caught the acting bug, and it's something I intend to pursue again in the future.

It was the first time I had ever picked up a sword. They then taught me how to use it; a life long dream of mine. This encouraged me to continue in the studies of Martial Arts, leading me to my Kosho Ryu and Escrima studies.

While we'd met before through a mutual acquaintance, it's where I got to know, and fell in love with shinji_katawane.. Fell in love with her twice in fact (long story, those that know us, know what I'm talking about).

I made friends, and formed close bonds, with people I will never forget... T&A (not as dirty as it sounds... Wait, yes they are :-P ), C&J, Prowler and Scullerywench, and far too many others to even try to mention.

The time I spent working with B this past year was one of the most enjoyable and educational experiences of my life. Never before have I learned so much in so little time, and had so much fun doing it.

Plus I got to dunk beautiful young ladies (including my girlfriend), in a huge tank of cold water every weekend!!! How cool is that!?!?

MERF was one of the best things I've ever been a part of. Despite some extremely difficult personal trials (which even those made me stronger and taught me much), if I had it to do over again, I would. Would I do things differently, perhaps. Hindsight is always 20/20, and we never fully realize the effects, and consequences, of our actions until later.

I'm certainly one of those that left with a 'bad taste in my mouth' at the end of 2004. That said, I wouldn't trade the experiences I lived through, the friends I made, and the lessons I learned, for anything.

In one setting or another..... I hope some time very soon, we'll all meet again.
