interview
i had an interview today.
well it wasn't an interview, interview, it was an initial interview. so the purpose was so i could find out more about the company, so they could meet me and see if i would be a good fit, and basically to overall determine if it was potentially something i really wanted to do...
and, my initial reaction... i LOVE this company.
it's this place called Core Financial. it's a financial planning firm. i think it's pretty small, it's located in Fort Collins. if i were to work there, well... first, there's no 'selling'. there's no cold calling. i would get trained to get my series 7 and series 66 (i think?) licenses, then they would have me go to classes and things. they'd set me up with a mentor. apparently the average age of the company is around 26. the first 4 years would be a lot of classes and a lot of industry training. it focuses a lot on the clients - setting them up with the best possible plans and programs.
this company isn't locked in to any particular plans or programs, so i could provide them with services from a number of different companies to ensure that we're setting them up with the best services for the individual. they work with people from different fields. they're really focused on family, and i guess they kind of work as a family.
it just sounds really, really good.
i need to think of some questions to ask him coming up. he said he's going to call me on Thursday, i can ask him a couple questions and if i'm really interested in working for them, i guess we'll set up an interview interview for sometime soon - an interview that'll be about an hour long and we'll get into the nitty gritty.
i need to talk to michelle... she can help me think of some questions, and i'm sure she'll give me some advice about what i should look for in terms of compensation and whatnot...
man, i am really excited.
i would like to interview with some other companies to get a feel for what the field is like from other perspectives, but if things keep going as they did today, this might be the place for me.
i'm going to clean up, maybe study for a bit and... whatever
