Bay Area Tarot Symposium - otherwise known as a wacky, fun, educational weekend. It was fabulous. It's run by a woman who is a lot of fun, and probably a little bit crazy, but she's wonderful and still gets done what needs to happen. She gives one of the lectures over the weekend, and it's not to be missed. She has a lot of fun with it but still gets a serious message across. It's kind of amazing, how you laugh your way through the whole thing but come away thinking, Wait, we actually talked about something serious but wow, sure didn't feel that way. Her message this year is that the world needs diviners. We are the ones who can touch the divine, the something else that is out there, and that a lot of people really need and don't know how to get.

I drop into "extravert" mode when I get around a bunch of people, and this weekend was the same. I talked to so many people! It was wonderful. Not a lot of food options over the weekend, other than the restaurant at the hotel, but it was enough. I guess. It's rather strange, in an area with hotels, the restaurants and coffee shops close down evenings and weekends.

Also got to see the Rosicrucian Egyptian museum, and the Winchester Mystery House. Took taxis, and walked back from the Egyptian museum with my friend. We just kind of started walking, with the idea that we'd call the taxi to come get us if we got tired. And then we made it the whole way! Four miles. I got a walk pretty much every day, which was good.

Bought two new decks and was gifted a third, as well as a knitted bag. Always had company at breakfast and lunch, as well as evenings in the bar. Got invited to the after-party, with all the vendors and organizers. Was a nice, quiet time (as far as it goes when you have a couple dozen people in a hotel suite).

I've learned never fly "partner" airlines. If it says "operating as" somebody else... skip it. On my flight up to San Jose, I had to go to another airport terminal and another airline instead of with the one where I booked the flight. The terminal wouldn't let me check in, told me to go to another airline, but nobody could tell me where that was. So I waited in line to talk to an agent, who told me where to go, but was terribly rude. Acted like I was an idiot to think that a Delta flight would be checking in at a Delta counter. She had a condescending tone to her voice when she asserted that my confirmation email likely told me where to go, if I had only read it.

Um, I did read it, you loser. It said to check in at a Delta counter.

It worked like normal on my return flight, which was also marked "operating as" somebody else.

But I'm home now, and happy.
