whooooooooooo

I'm back from the Northern Country! I have a triangle-shaped sunburn on my stomach from falling asleep on a paddleboat. Good times, good times.

Reading update: my mom and I have been doing a summer "book club" (which consists of the two of us, hence the quotation marks), and we have read two books so far. These books were Where the Heart Is by Billie Letts and The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells. Both books were sweet, funny, sad, touching, and all around wonderful. Where the Heart Is is the story of a young pregnant woman who lives in a Wal-Mart for a period of time and the people around her, and Divine Secrets is a story about Southern belles and their mother/daughter relationships. They're both really good; I'd recommend them. The next book is A Painted House, by John Grisham. I haven't started it yet, but I think it's going to be good.

I saw Inception on it's opening day (July 16th) and I loved every second of it. I would have posted about it after I saw it, but I was still reeling from all the mind-screw.  I have had a celebrity crush on Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Arthur, AKA the-guy-who-fought-people-in-zero-gravity in Inception, and Tom, the too-cute-to-live hero of (500) Days of Summer, which is one of my favorite movies) for a couple of years now, and I was glad that he got so much screen time. The part where he kisses Ellen Page is so funny! Anyway, I can't talk about it too much, lest I spoil too much of the awesome, but...uh...it's awesome. Go see it!

I turn 18 in two days. Sweet!

And: sorry to everyone that got flooded out by the pseudo-apocalyptic rains we had here on Thursday...hope you're all doing well.

Also, yes: I have an Arthur/Ariadne icon. I know you're jealous.
