The alarm system for the house was installed today...took them most of the day. Am anxious that I'll somehow set it off merely by looking at it too hard.

THINKING OF HOME SHOULDN'T MAKE ONE MELANCHOLY. HOME & CHILDHOOD ARE JUST PLACES IN OUR PAST, HISTORY THAT SHAPES WHO WE ARE. TO NOT BE SADDENED BY THE MEMORIES OF WHAT WAS, WE HAVE TO BE ACTIVE IN THE PRESENT. RELATIONSHIPS- FAMILY, LOVE, COWORKERS - ALL IMPOROVE WITH CONTACT, GROWTH & CHANGE THOUGH NOT EASY ALMOST ALWAYS PUTS US IN A BEETER PLACE.

IT'S ONLY WHEN WE ISOLATE OURSELVES THAT WHAT WAS OR MIGHT HAVE BEEN HAUNTS US BECAUSE WE DO NO ALLOW THE PRESENT TO SHOW US WHAT REALLY IS AND CAN BE.

ITS A MATTER OF FOCUS.

Thinking of home does make me melancholy in some respects...I didn't say that everything about it did. I'm definitely in a better place now, much, much happier with the life I've made for myself and the people around me. Still I miss certain aspects of being surrounded by family, yet understand that what I'm missing wouldn't exist even if I'd stayed there. It's an idealistic dream-wish, like the grandmother described on coffee mugs. Nice, but not necessarily reality.
