Who Calls the Cavalry?
Am amazed at how quick people are to step all over the precepts America was founded upon. State's rights are an integral part of our history and should not be disregarded for any little reason - especially not for weather. Yes, Hurricane Katrina was a disaster for the Gulf Coast, but one that was entirely foreseeable and had really little to do with chain-of-command decisions; there was certainly enough time for proper action to be taken before the hurricane struck. It's astounding how willing this nation is to abandon proper protocol in a mad hysteria to place blame - yet these same people would be the first to whine and complain about an out-sized, over-controlling federal government. It would seem that most lack even a basic ability to look at the big picture.
The longer I live, the more convinced am I that this planet is used by other planets as a lunatic asylum. ~ George Bernard Shaw
