JK's long overdue post
Guess who? Yep it's me JK just writing to let you all know that I am alive and well. I'd love to tell you that I've just been too busy to post but the truth of the matter is that I've been too lazy to do much of anything lately. Nonetheless I'll try and I mean TRY to do better about that. So, without further delay I'll give you a quick rundown of my life. My Grandmother (the one who was at graduation died at the end of July. That led me and my family to travel back to Texas for the funeral, but don't worry about me too much. I got a chance to say goodbye and talk to her a bit on my previous visit and that helped a lot.
My job search really didn't pan out so I decided to pick up a few classes at a community college while looking for a grad school. As it is I'm signed up for a intro level sociology course and an internship at a local juvenile detention center. As an added bonus the staff at the center have been impressed by my attitude and work ethic so they are looking into getting me a staff position next semester. As for me I'll keep my fingers crossed on that one.
I have also taken this break to try and get in touch with my spirituality. I've been regularly attending a local baptist church for the last month. At the same time I've finally resolved enough issues to go ahead and get baptized. While I'm aware this is more of a symbol of my to God and Jesus, I can't help but feel both excited and scare about what this means for the future. Between my various Church activities and my internship I keep reasonably busy. Still, this doesn't keep me from missing hanging out with the gang so expect to hear from me more often. Well I have to finish making dinner right now so I've got to go. Take care and send me a message if you get a chance.
