My new life in Virginia Beach

Well it's finally done. As of August 1, 2007, I am living in an apartment at Regent University and man is it different. First of all I'm in a single meaning that for the first time in my life I am the sole occupant of my living space. No roommate, no parents providing food, and all the bills coming directly to me. Its both scary and exciting at the same time. On the one hand I can study and walk around in my underwear as much as I want. On the other hand I still have to pay to wash my laundry and the monthly rent is a little steep ($650 a month). Still, God is good and I know that if he has led me this far he won't let me end up on the street.

Beyond that things are looking good. I finished up my last paper and sent it through, effectively ending my summer classes. Right now I'm doing some reading ahead for the fall semester and looking around for possible jobs. Right now the Graduate Assistant Job in the Psych Department is looking promising, but there are also some mental health jobs around town that I want to check out as well. I figure I'll send my resume out to a few places and see who bites. Considering the fact that I am in school only two times a week this semester I should have more options than I had in the past. Even so I wouldn't mind a few prayer to help the process along (nudge, nudge)

Surprisingly enough I've even made a few friends right off the bat. Never underestimate the value in lending a hand to people moving in. I found out after the point that one of the groups I helped out included the new Internship Coordinator for my program. Hopefully this will allow me a little extra help when I go to find a site later in this semester. Well that's enough from me. Take care of yourselves and God bless!
