Next year is my High School's class 20th class reunion. I've been friending many folk on my Facebook, which is interesting.
However, they are all hopelessly Arkansasan, Xtian (even some that surprise me), and straight.
Now, I got no real problem with any of this. They seem happy. I'm more amused that the popular people are still ... popular.
However, I seem to be the only one that is/was gay. Was I the only gay in my High School? Surely not?
I'd love to find out that one guy that I boy-crushed on turned out playing on my team. It's a nice fantasy.
Oh well, if I was it justs make me more unique. Gay, Heathen, Gamer, in the Talented and Gifted class (TAG) and no longer in Sherwood or Little Rock metro area.
I'm pondering if they are even organizing a reunion? Will I go? Why would I go ... these people are so far removed from me in so many ways. The close friends I did have ... fellow geeks and nerds that were in TAG classes ... aren't showing up in Facebook and probably have gone on to much bigger and better things (Phillip Francis alone is probably a tech millionaire and Kathy Lloyd ... probably doing something amazing ... though I know she's married now or was married).
So I ponder if it's worth my while. High School was not a good time for me, in my personal life. School life was simply there. I wasn't one of the popular kids, but I knew who they were and interacted with them because I was on the school paper ... but only in classes and such. Never did I "hang out" with them. A few of them were even friendly to me and I friendly to them. I'm quite sure many of the folk on Facebook only remember my name but little else.
