warning: elected idiots can and will be supported by idiots of greater or equal idiocy.

it hurts my soul and my little family of queer kids. i'm astounded at the comments huckabee made regarding the stance we take on equal rights. this only further cements the feelings i've been having of complete absurdity in the world. gene pools for such beings should be permanenty discontinued. it's easy to be oblivious to the displacement of others. apathy is the new HIV.

i went to the rally for fairness and equality on valentines day. it was really cool to be apart of. huckabee was holding a 'celebration of marriage' at the altell arena. the event was funded using TAX DOLLARS, people. no fucking taxation without some mother fucking representation. we were there. he was there. the news was there. huckabee KNOWS about our organization. apathy is contagious.

Gay Activist Group Protests Huckabee Policy
Thursday, February 24, 2005

Conway, AR - A protest Thursday night in Conway as the governor tapes a show at AETN. It came from a group called the Conway League of Queer Activists.

They are demanding a fresh look at some old issues. They weren't loud, or unruly, but their message was clear.

The group of mostly college students claim the governor is unfairly treating the homosexual population.

(Nick Stinson, activist) "In Arkansas right now there is inequality. People are supporting the inequality."

The Conway League of Queer Activists were assembled directly outside of AETN.

Inside, the governor was taping a show about fitness, and had little to say about their actions.

(Huckabee) "I'm not even aware that this group exists. They are getting what they want. They want to be on TV, and they are getting that opportunity."

But Nick Stinson, a student at Hendrix insists this is more than just some notoriety.

(Stinson) "There are bills in the house involving homosexuals keeping them from adopting a child."

The governor went on to say that he respects the group's first amendment rights, but has never even heard of their group.

(WTF!?)
