well done is there going to be a sequel?
Smart writing of Atlantis as a ship rather than a place.

Thanks! In answer to your question: Though I reserve the right to change my mind, I rather doubt I will write any more with these characters.

As fun as the plot and premise were, and I did adore the good ship Atlantis (for a final twist I have to say this made a remarkable amount of sense) still, my favorite part was your characters. Though Jack remained largely within his cannon element, your completely unique (at least to my experience) portrayal of James was absolutely enthralling. From his first moments of cynical acceptance of Jack and his plans, through the wonderful image of him struggling in the sand with the pirate, weak heart and all, to the final bold-faced admissions, your creation of James was a fascinating pleasure to read. This story worked beautifully on its own, but if you've got more of this fabulous character in you, I would become a devoted fan. Besides, I think it only right that Jack should now be put through a bit of trouble on James's account to make up for his devious intentions, fruitful or not. Is it far too sappy and cliche of my wicked psyche to conjure an image of Jack worrying over skinny James and his flagging heart? ^_^ Probably so, ( ... )

Wow. Thank you so much for this kind and thoughtful response. One so rarely hears more than a few words from people--which is certainly greatly appreciated, but all the same. I'm very pleased to know that this resonated with you, and I appreciate your telling me so.

It was easy enough to say, “We’ll row to Tortuga,” but, in actuality, the trip nearly killed them.
Really liked this l ine. Not sure why. Maybe because it starts out flip, but ends up serious. The last few words *could* be hyperbole, but given past events and the very real situation of rowing on the open ocean-yeah. Not a joke.

Atlantis is a ship So simple! So effective! BWAHAHAHAHA!

Much as he liked James Norrington, sorry as he would be to betray him, Jack would let nothing come between him and the Black Pearl.
Ok, *this* rings true. Now I'm a little worried about betrayal.

“I don’t know what to believe, Jack. Can I trust anything you say, or is it all suspect?”

“Couldn’t tell you.”

Great exchange. I can just hear the emotions-resigned, sad, a bit of forced blytheness.

In short, AWESOME. Just cut out that one paragraph in Chapter 3.
