some stuff i just got:
1. Two Ton Boa - "Parasiticide"
this record sucks.
2-3. Om - "Variations on a Them" & "Conference of the Birds"
&
these are great. between both the albums, there are only 5 songs, but they're all really long. these songs can actually hold my attention for 20 minutes. it's dark psychadelic jams. i really like both of these records.
4. East Coast Boogiemen - Live at M3 in DC
this is a great funky house mix. i'm pretty hooked on it. the thing i dislike the most about nyc is that nobody listens to house and this makes me miss living in dc. anyway, i love this.
5. 187 Lockdown - "Sunday Flavaz vol 1"
this would be an awesome speed garage mix, but it has diva vocals on most tracks that i can't get down with. i would be so stoked if i had an instrumental copy of this. some of it is still pretty good.
6. Star Pimp - "Seraphim 280z"
this records has it's moments. star pimp is a great band that used to put stuff out on kill rock stars. i think that people overlook them because they have a dumb name and ugly cover art. they are totally under-rated. their record "docudrama" (see below) isn't to be missed. that said i don't think they had been playing music very long when they recorded this and it's not that great.
you can buy both of star pimp's records on amazon used for $0.01 + shipping and handeling. i think they're out of print otherwise. it's kind of sad.
