Singer Salvage Yard, Monday

Oct 18, 2010 18:50

It had been surprising enough for the doctors at the Louisiana hospital when the brain dead John Doe suddenly woke up Saturday night. Coming in to find him spontaneously transformed into a woman had been more than any of them wanted to deal with, and they kicked him out before he could even get his hands on a phone to try to call Sam and Dean.

Which would be how he'd ended up spending Sunday and most of Monday morning slowly making his way north to South Dakota and Bobby Singer's home. He was greeted at the gate by a mob of happy, energetic kittens and Bobby Singer's shot gun.

Apparently, the apocalypse hadn't been going well in Castiel's absence.

"So, let me get this straight," Dean said, looking Castiel in all his rumpled, girl-in-her-dad's-old-suit glory up and down. "Your vessel just randomly turned into a chick?"

"Yes," Castiel said. He was tired and feeling far too human to deal with this. "It happens, on occasion."

Sam looked up from where he was petting Angelbane, who'd apparently taken to life in the junk yard with her kittens very well. "And these are your cats?"

"As much as sentient creatures can belong to anyone, yes."

"And where, exactly, have you been?" asked Bobby.

"An interdimensional nexus located on a small island off the coast of Maryland, known as 'Fandom'."

The three men stared more. Castiel decided to leave them to it and went off in search of a beer.

[ooc: Castiel's got his phone on him somewhere, if anyone feels the need to call. Other than that, post is establishy.]
