Terri Schiavo Dies

Mar 31, 2005 09:26

A great injustice has been done.

The battle over the fate of Terri has ended. Now comes the part the major players have been looking forward to. Billing. The attorneys will send their bills, the judges will get their publicity fees, talk show schedules will be planned and payments made and book and movie rights claimed. Money, money, money. In all this Terri will be forgotten. But not by her parents who have suffered greatly over this lack of humanity shown by those who are suppose to have the best interest of all of us at heart.

There will be fools cheering Terri's death saying, "She is where God wants her to be." Idiots who don’t have the foggiest idea of how Terri has suffered over the last two weeks. Oblivions who don't understand that many of us would have died before Terri had we been deprived of food and water. It is obvious Terri was fighting for life simply by the length of time she did survive. It takes a conscious will to survive under the conditions Terri was in.

Her selfish and ignorant husband will marry his current floozy, collect the insurance payments, cheat on his now new wife, and on and on and on...

Jessie Jackson can claim a victory for black people everywhere. (He is only interested in promoting and encouraging discrimination and prejudice anyway so what the hell.)

Good ol’ boy Jeb Bush will say he did all he could, his hands were tied and blame it on the system he governs. The judges will quietly disappear into the woodwork, their bank accounts flooded with lobbyist money while their memoirs are having another chapter added.

The “Praise Jesus, God is Great” crowd will drift back to their small little worlds, happily believing God orchestrated this whole affair and they were there for the miracle.

Our country and government have turned the page and entered a new chapter. No longer will human life have any value. No longer will the care of critically ill patients be controlled by family or doctors who have the backbone to standup for the oath they all took.

I weep for the suffering Terri and her parents have gone through, yet I am glad Terri is at last pain free and happy. Yes, I believe she is in Gods arms now, and while I can not speak for God I suspect he will want some explanation from those responsible.

HUMBUG!!!
