I almost forgot that today (March 28th) was
my 9th LJ anniversary! *smooches
raincitygirl* Nine years ago,
raincitygirl was the one to give me an LJ invite code after I'd been lurking for a while in Buffyverse fandom. Oh, man. I used to read pretty much everything that
thebratqueen wrote, and many others. SO MUCH Angel/Wes fic. And Wes/Gunn. And Wes/Lilah. (I was a HUGE Wesley fan at one point, guys, though I probably wouldn't be if I came to the show now.) Those were the days. [ETA: Ha! I wrote this post before going back through my archives to link to my very first LJ post, and what do you know--I thank Rain and I talk about TBQ's Angel/Wes fic. Credit where credit's due...]
And then more and more ATPo folks joined us over here, and as much as moving from a posting board to LJ's journal platform re-shaped our conversation, I think it was inevitable that we'd become more diverse in our interests as the shows ended. LJ gave us a chance to share more personal details, to hold less structured conversations. I know a lot of us now do more of our personal/private interaction on Facebook, that we don't comment or discuss the way we used to, but I think that's okay too.
Anyway, it's weird that after all these years I'm back in school. A lot has happened between undergrad and now, so it's not like I feel that I haven't progressed? But there's still a bit of a cognitive dissonance to realise that I'm once again living across the street from a university, trying desperately not to procrastinate and failing miserably. *facepalm* It's like no time has passed at all!
