Sorry for the delay in updating this post! Here are some basic things about me as a reader that might help guide your writing, though obviously these are merely suggestions or sign-posts--you're free to write whatever your heart desires and I'm sure I'll love it!
Avengers Movieverse: I'm primarily a Tony, Steve, and Steve/Tony fan, but I love the Marvel Movieverse women as well and I really want more fic written about their lives and their perspectives. Peggy Carter is amazing, a heroine in every way, and I'd love a story that dealt with what it was like for her, a soldier coming home after WWII to war-torn England. Was she from London originally? Some other city that had been spared bombing? My personal canon is that she, Howard, and Colonel Phillips started up SHIELD and that she's the one who, years later, recruited a young African-American soldier named Nick Fury. I'm fond of Steve/Peggy and I'd love to see Peggy deal with her loss.
I loved that Thor passed the Bechdel test. Jane and Darcy weren't BFF, but Darcy supported her boss and I can absolutely see the events of the movie forging a stronger bond between them. Their friendship was totally unexpected--everyone thought Thor would be merely an action flick--but we got those two AND Sif (and even Frigga) and I wish more Thor fic remembered that. (I feel for Loki, I really do, but I don't have much patience for guys who respond to emotional pain by hurting innocent people.) So, yes, Jane & Darcy friendship would be awesome! Background Thor/Jane is fine and Darcy with Steve, Clint--or, heck, Tony or Natasha!--is also fine, though I'm also perfectly happy with gen.
Natasha is a character I'd like to know more about. If you know the comics, feel free to bring in canon. (But don't make it about canon romances.) If you're a movie newbie like me, then tell me what you think she's been thinking all this time. She must have been the first person Fury tapped for the Avengers Initiative. Would she really have slept with Tony if he'd made a move on her? (Gotta admit, I kind of like Tony/Natasha. RDJ and Johansson are hot together. *g*) I'd love to see her Russian background explored, if you're willing to tackle that. Or just how she feels about now being a "superhero" when before she'd always worked undercover and out of the spotlight.
DC Comics: My thoughts on Steph and Cass are pretty simple. They're survivors. They keep getting back on their feet, no matter what. But also? They're FUN. Yes, there's plenty of angst in the Batverse, but I love Steph when she's snarky and competent and a huge goofball. I love that she isn't the slickest operator ever, but that she's getting better. I love Cass when she's sly and deadpan and quietly awesome. They're BFF and they're Bats. I'd love a fic about them together, or with Tim and/or Damian. I ship Steph/Damian, in a 'he's got a crush' or 'when he's finished puberty they get together' kind of way. I find Damian's insistence that only he is worth of the Bat mantle to be kind of... sweet? Sad? Misguided? All the kids have an aspect of Batman, but IMHO Cass is Bruce's true heir. Spiritually, she's the closest to being The Bat. She and Damian are the only ones who actually want the mantle, and she wants it for all the right reasons while he wants it for all the wrong ones. As for Tim, I'd love to see his friendship with Steph and/or Cass. I'm thinking Steph-as-Batgirl era, exes who still love one another, and Tim as the only one who knows what Cass is up to.
Stargate SG-1: Stargate is/was my primary fandom. I've written fic, mostly slash but also a series called Brightest Heaven that is all about the women. (Well, and John.) I think Catherine, Cassie, Carolyn, and Hailey are all amazing characters and severely underrepresented in fandom. My original sign-up post already had some prompts you could use or not use, as you like. Anything you write would be welcome!
So that's it, basically. If you could avoid writing about Rodney McKay, Jason Todd, and Loki, that would be awesome... But no worries if you don't.
