"Homefront", Young Justice 1x12 (minor spoilers)
Another new episode of Young Justice! After months without new eps, I'm so excited that the Cartoon Network has slotted a whole bunch to air each week for the next few weeks! Tonight's ep was pretty darn good. Not perfect, but chock full of awesome. *g* I'm dead tired, so I'm not really going to write a review, but I wanted to mention a fic idea I've been toying with for a few days now. Tonight's episode almost Kripke'd my plot bunny!
My fic idea was that Artemis starts attending Gotham Academy on scholarship and feels really out of place with all the rich kids. But then she meets another scholarship kid, Stephanie Brown, who introduces Artemis to her BFF, Cassandra Cain, Bruce Wayne's adopted daughter. I'd wanted to play with the similarities and differences between Artemis and Cass (since I'm still of the opinion that Artemis is a Cass analogue) and let Steph be a mentor to Artemis. Dick, of course, has to sneak around like a ninja so Artemis doesn't connect him with Robin.
I wanted to throw in Babs as a younger student, a computer genius who is at Gotham Academy on an academic scholarship. (Hey, all the ages in Earth-16 are messed up anyway, so why not make Babs be younger than Cass and Steph?) I was also thinking of including Tim as Steph's boyfriend, and Tam Fox as the It girl of Gotham Academy, who Artemis thinks is a total snob until they get to know one another.
Then "Homefront" gave us Babs in canon! And Bette Kane is Artemis' New Student Liaison! There should totally be high school fic about Artemis and the Batgirls. With Dick being a complete troll. It's almost like I'm prescient!
