Ship meme // Sense and Sensibility

I really should go to bed now, to make up for last night, but I suddenly have all this pent up energy. Not the kind of energy that lets you run marathons, but marathoning a season of Castle, sure. Anyway, ship meme. Because I can.

Six ships you're into right now.

01 → Harry/Draco (HP)
02 → Harry/Snape (HP)
03 → Hermione/Draco (HP)
04 → Remus/Sirius (HP)
05 → Harry/Ginny (HP)
06 → Elinor Dashwood/Colonel Brandon (S&S)

Three ships you liked, but don't anymore.
[To clarify: John/Teyla and Jack/Daniel are still part of my personal canon, I just don't actively ship them now. McShep I just don't like.]

07 → Sheppard/McKay (SGA)
08 → John/Teyla (SGA)
09 → Jack/Daniel (SG-1)

Three ships you never liked.

10 → Harry/Ron (HP)
11 → Ron/Draco (HP)
12 → Remus/Tonks (HP)

Two ships you're curious about, but don't actually ship.

13 → girl!Harry/Dean (HP) I blame the fic I'm working on
14 → black!Hermione/Ginny (HP) ditto

Popped Emma Thompson's Sense and Sensibility into the DVD player this afternoon. God, I love this movie. ♥ Utterly delightful. Emma Thompson and Alan Rickman have such fantastic chemistry throughout that I'm tempted to ship them... Or friendship-ship them. They're all wonderful, really, everyone from Willoughby to Mrs Jennings to Lucy to Edward: the actors seem to breathe their characters. Hugh Laurie! I mean, I know it's Hugh Laurie? But he's just so perfect that I forget it's him. Hee! God, the snark. Oh, excuse me, I should say rather "his dry wit".

I still don't ship Brandon/Marianne though, which I'm sure some would consider sacrilege. Either it's residual hesitation towards Kate Winslet due to Titanic being my introduction to her (a movie I haven't seen, nor care to see) or it's that the age difference is so apparent in the movie, and is highlighted, intentionally or not, in the first scene at Barton Cottage after Marianne recovers from her illness, that makes me uncomfortable with Brandon and Marianne together. (Wow, that was a long sentence.) In any case, I much prefer Brandon with Elinor. Sorry, Hugh Grant-- No, wait, I like Elinor with Edward too.

Solution: I will ship Elinor with everyone. Even Mr Palmer. Emma Thompson + Hugh Laurie = ♥

I've tried watching the latest BBC version a few times now, but keep giving up only a little way in. Suppose it's a knee-jerk reaction, in part for the Morissey factor (sorry, Jay!) and in part for it not being the Emma Thompson version.
