Recs: DS9 Intro and Picspam post! And Awesome Ladies Ficathon!
Guys, if you've been following my 30 Days of TV Meme, you would have seen my squeeing and picspamming of my beloved Trek, Deep Space Nine. You might also have seen the YouTube clips and fic/vid recs I made for Sunday's Day of Non-The Original Series Trek.
But for those of you who aren't familiar with DS9, or would like a better summary than my vague ramblings of what the show, characters, and arcs are about, let me direct you to eponymous-rose's wonderful Epic Introduction to DS9 Post/Picspam. Heads-up: intro spoils TNG's "The Best of Both Worlds", since it's essential to Sisko's backstory.
ION, due to CBS totally screwing over AJ Cook and Paget Brewster of Criminal Minds by writing Jennifer Jareau off the show, and reducing the role of Emily Prentiss, fandom has responded with Awesome Ladies Ficathon. I'll likely not participate since I've got other female-centric ficathons to worry about. (Note to Em: no, I haven't gotten anything written for
ladiesbigbang yet!)
JJ is my favourite character on Criminal Minds. If she's gone, if Prentiss is only a part-timer, there's nothing I'm going to want to watch on CBS.
