The politics of fictional characters (aka no really, Gibbs is a Republican)
Oh, I am so far gone. I am looking up 2008 general election results for the county in which Winchester, Idaho, resides. See, I wanted to figure out how likely it'd be that Colby would have voted for Obama, and I gotta say, the stats seem to indicate he was more than twice as likely to have voted for McCain. Especially given Colby's military background. Of course, I don't think it's any stretch of the imagination to assume David would've voted for Obama--which is grounds for interesting conflict.
Los Angeles County voted for Obama over 2:1, so it's not like Colby's vote for McCain would've done much good, but I'm kind of toying with an idea for numb3rsflashfic's current prompt, Negotiation, in which one scene would include David and Colby making a deal about politics. I'm not sure what that deal would be just yet, but considering their disagreement over the JFK assassination, I'm curious how they would clash over politics!
