What's the learning curve on Apple computers?

Nov 06, 2008 11:15

Good/bad: The good outweighs the bad, but the bad is such a stupid thing I did that I can't help dwelling on it.

I got a new MacBook Pro from work today. My team will be producing videos on a weekly basis now, and I have to learn some video editing. Plus my regular PhotoShop stuff. So yay! Shiny new MacBook that I have to learn how to use!

But stupid me, I was trying to find a place on my desk to safely put it (I still have my regular PC) so I could use the laptop lock. And in the process of moving stuff around it, I scratched the lid of the laptop! :( So shiny laptop is slightly less shiny 30 minutes into my ownership.

THIS ICON IS SO APPROPRIATE RIGHT NOW.

Er. You guys know any handy tips for buffing up laptops so scratches don't appear so noticible? *headdesks SO HARD*

The MacBook Pro is NOT the same as the laptop my sister has, which means I'm really starting from the beginning. You have to depress the touchpad itself to click on stuff, which is weird.

Stayed up late working on a spreadsheet for work. And tonight is our monthly EMC meeting, so I'll be at church until 9, 9:30. So tired.
