9/9 (also SG-1 S9, heh). Request for SG-1 fic recs?
It's my sister's birthday. I'm trying not to remember how old she's turning, because then I remember how old I'm going to be at my next birthday, and that's just depressing.
So yeah, my sister took the day off work to get her hair done, go shopping, and basically indulge herself. Her hair's grown past her waist in the last year, and if she didn't tie it up, she'd be sitting on it. So she'll get enough inches cut to donate, and brought a camera to the salon to document the process. *g* Dinner tonight with the family. I haven't bought her a gift yet, but likely I'll just take her shopping and let her pick out what she wants. Saves me the headache of finding clothes she'll like.
I've been reading SG-1 fic. Lots of Cameron, Daniel/Cameron, and Daniel/Vala. I really, really want to read more fic involving Cameron's family. It's the whole outsider POV -- I eat that with a spoon. Mom and apple pie and normality peering in on the insanity that is the Stargate universe. Anybody got recs? Pretty please?
Also, I still haven't completed part 2 of my M7 ficathon assignment. Too distracted by Daniel Jackson and the myriad ways he can piss off gods and aliens alike, get himself shot at, held hostage, and still have time to save the galaxy before breakfast. How he can be such a force for good, a hero full of compassion and vision, while being a total nutcase and kind of a dick.
Finally watched the last 4 eps of House Season 4. Oh wow. The 2-parter finale killed me. No spoilers here except to say I loved it, yet wished it hadn't ended quite the way it did. (Interestingly, Amber reminds me of Vala in that she's the female character who waltzed in and forced me to love a canon het pairing despite my slash OTP.)
Work is busy. My boss is out today -- out sick again, poor guy. Had to go to the ER, allergic reaction to something, possibly.
I'm uploading my Europe photos. Still not ready to post them, but hey. At least I've downloaded onto the harddrive. That's more than I can say about my cruise photos, which are still sitting in my disposible camera.
