Weird Shit Happens in Orlando.
So I'm in Orlando for the week until we go on the cruise this Sunday...
...and today we had to run a bunch of errands and we got them all accomplished before noon:
*new driver's license for Corey
*new glasses for Corey
*picked up Alicia's jewelry she left at the tanning salon yesterday
*FOOD at the Boston Fish House
While we were at the Boston Fish House (awesome seafood place with Patriots, Red Sox, and Celtics memorabilia all over the restaurant) there was a guy in his 40's staring at me and straining to check me out the ENTIRE time we are in the restaurant! I wasn't concerned right away, I thought he was looking past me or somethign until he got up to walk out the exit by our table and come back in - looking at me the whole time he is walking back to his table. But wait! It gets better! So Sean, Corey, and I are done eating and get up to leave. We are in the parking lot, almost to the car, and the guy starts yeling at us, trying to flag us down! I get in the back seat, and the guy asks Corey - from across the parking lot, mind you -
"Hey are you guys in a band?!"
Corey: "Um...no."
"Is SHE in a band?!"
Corey: "Um...no?"
"Does she sing?!" (getting very much closer to the car now...almost to the door)
Corey: "Yeah, she sings."
so now he's at the car door, looking into the back seat to talk to me, while Corey is sitting half-way in the driver's seat already...
"What do you sing?!"
Me: "Uh...everything?"
"Do you like pop-punk/alternative?!"
Me: "yeah."
"Do you have a demo or anything so I could hear what you sound like?"
Me: "No...I'm still writing my songs, I haven't recorded anything, yet."
"My name is Gary Carolla and I'm a record producer for Get Wild Productions. I'm looking for a lead singer for my band called The Rag Dolls - here's my card, if you're interested...how old are you?"
Me: "19."
"Have you taken voice lessons or anything before?"
Me: "At school..."
"So you're still in school, huh?"
Me: "yes."
"Ok - e-mail me your info and some pictures if you're interested."
Me: "Ok..."
...so as we are driving off - he's already walked back towards the restaurant and motions for us to roll down the window and says,
"Do it fast! I'm auditioning right now!"
CRAZY!!!!
SO I called my mom, to see what she thought...she checked out the website (www.theragdolls.net)and the background info on Gary and tells me to look into it. Why not? I'm here aren't I? Sheesh...she I asked her to send me some pics that I could e-mail to the guy with my contact info, I e-mailed him, and called him to tell him I sent him the e-mail and that I was interested! Then I called my dad, Alyssa, and Brieger to tell them what just happened. He's going to call me back when he gets home and gets the e-mail, so he can send me some MP3s of the music he wants me to learn so he can hear me sing. OMG!

Check out their website...the lead singer couldn't excatly re-locate to Orlando, I guess...most of the girls are Italian, and apparently they are really big in Europe - AKA: Alyssa, if this works out...you, me, and Keysha may not have to PAY to go to Italy like we dreamed! WOOT!
How weird would this be, though? I don't know what I would do about school and everything...but maybe it would give me a leg up in the industry - GAH!!!!
How random is that???? Who chases after someone in a restaurant's parking lot to see if they are interested in being a lead singer?! Gary Carolla, obviously...we'll see how this goes!

I guess it's just weird that you can be in the right place at the right time and have a potential "look"...it's kinda cool how God gives you opportunities like this one! We'll see!
