That's the last time I was under 200 pounds.

I'm getting totally burned out on this endless diet, and especially the damper it puts on my social life.  Almost no comfort food, beer, or bourbon for six months now.  It's boring as hell.  I'd guess it will be another month or so before I'm at my goal of 185.  I'm so damn close and I'm not quitting now.  My weight as of today is 198 and my BP was 97/58 without meds.  So it's been totally worth it in terms of my health.  In fact that's borderline low on the BP.  Other times of day, though, I've been averaging 105-110/70-75, which is quite good.  I've got a followup appointment with the doc in late September to keep me honest.  It will be interesting to see if my cholesterol numbers improve.  The LDL was a little on the high side on my last checkup 6 weeks ago when I was 225 pounds or so.  HDL and triglicerides were right in the normal range.  Who knows?  Maybe I won't actually keel over of diabeetus and heart disease before I'm 70.

The boredom has motivated me to get a lot of stuff done that I'd been meaning to do for quite some time.  I've rearranged my home network/cloud so I could ditch Comcast Business, which has become very overpriced for what you get.  I've also fixed a number of things around the house, not the least of which is my tree damaged driveway.

On other subjects, I've been watching a lot of food porn lately.  (I wonder why.. LOL)  I'm getting more and more tempted to try some Russian dishes.  Especially syrniki and piroshki.  And actually shchi and borsch.  It must be my Polish/slav genes coming out.  I did actually make some shashlik (basically kebabs) on the charcoal grill last week, since that at least is pretty low carb / keto friendly.  It was amazingly delicious, though I used more of a New Mexico type recipe for the marinade than a Russian one.  I'll have to try a fully Russion version using pork, onions, kefir, etc.  I'll bet it will be amazing.  I saw a recipe on the Youtube 'Food Wishes' channel for piroshki that looked really tempting and then started searching for more.  I also came across the 'Life of Boris' channel, which is quite entertaining.  сука блять!

I'm also discovering that it's not too hard to pick up the cyrillic alphabet, at least the printed version.  The handwriting, though, is another story.  It's really quite confusing for a western spy like myself.  If my stepmother remains interested in going to St. Petersburg (not Florida) some time next year, and I go along, I'll at least want to be able to read maps and street signs, and know a few common phrases.

Enough for now.  It's getting about time for my daily walk.  Looks like some weather is building on the east side of town.  If I go for a walk, that will draw an electrical storm over the west side like a magnet.  Kind of like a yuppie rain dance.
