Disposable Appliances

As if I didn't have enough shit happening right now, my Maytag washer has decided to piss all over my laundry room floor.  It has actually been getting worse and worse for about 4 years now, and back when I tried to repair it myself a few years ago, all of the critical parts are shitty made in China plastic.  Typical.  My Mom's old washer and dryer lasted her over 25 years!  Made in the 1960s in the USA by "lazy inefficient American union labor", but the damn things worked.

I blame my own countrymen for their cheap-ass trailer-trash "Walmart" mindset where cost matters above everything else to the point that actualy quality isn't even available any more.

So, I guess it's time to start shopping around for a good high capacity washer.  To be honest, despite my grumbling about shitty quality, there are better washers out there to be had.  I'm thinking of going for one of the newer models that doesn't have a central agitator.  A lot of those can easily handle a king size comforter.

In the mean time, I put a "diaper" of old towels around the base of the washer to keep it at least somewhat under control.  But I'm afraid it's only a matter of time before it completely craps out.

quality, made in china, junk, life
