The easiest day was yesterday.
Tomorrow would be a day of unfulfilled promises and wishes, broken by chance and opportunity. It’s an unknown, deterred too easily by things out of one’s control. Out of grasp, you cannot reach it until it has passed you, and then it’s too late.
Today is a blur, a constant fight against the clock to prevent tomorrow from coming too early. You want to live in today, to make it yours and make it count, but it’s uncontrolled and racing towards to opposite side.
Plans and hopes turn into reality and tangible, for only a short moment before becoming memories, regrets and nostalgia. Days fly by, as we struggle to catch up, try to get ahead and win this hopeless fight. Nothing we do can stop dreaming about tomorrow and fight today.
Yesterday is a constant. Yesterday is behind us, following us and pushing us forward. It reminds us what needs to be done, that today is worth the struggle and that tomorrow is worth hoping for. Yesterday never changes. It never brings you down.
Yesterday is easy.
