R.I.P. Steve Irwin
I can't believe Steve Irwin is really dead. I had always wanted to meet him. This development has left me immensely sad. Dead at 44. Impaled by a sting ray. Admittedly, the man played with fire more often than most, but among all the people in the industrialized world... he was out there doing something. And contributing to both science and his native Australia like no other. Earth has lost another hero.
