Okay, I was never a big fan of 'Dog' Chapman or his show on A&E. I *do* think that Beth Chapman, Dog's wife is *exactly* what Britney Spears is gonna look like in another 25 years... but I digress...
Dog's show was pulled from A&E earlier this week because a telephone conversation between him and his son was leaked (by the son) to a tabloid - in that phone conversation, Dog repeatedly used the 'N' word.
Sponsors pulled ads, and A&E pulled the show.
Now bear in mind that I think the 'N' word is one that should be struck from everyone's consciousness. I think it should never be uttered again. Ever.
What boggles my mind tonight is that I just turned on A&E. I caught the last couple of minutes of The First 48, and what do they have on? A young alleged offender, tossing around the 'N' word. Not only is he saying it, but they've got it written in the subtitles.
WTF?!
Does it matter that a young black man was saying it? Does it matter that it was 'N***ah', not 'N***er'? Does that change the meaning? Is it worse or less deplorable that Dog said it in a private phone conversation, never intended to be heard by the public?
Discuss.
