[a MAN enter the scene from stage left. he is comfortably dressed in clean clothes, no holes or patches. his hair is clean, but not styled. he is not wearing shoes. he coughs to attract the attention on the audience]

MAN: Hey. Welcome to the show. Things are going to be picking up in a bit, so I've been sent out to set the scene.

[MAN starts dragging chairs and tables from off stage. once they are set, he starts placing glasses and silverware. all the while he is talking.]

MAN: First off, the place: a small restaraunt in some medium sized metropolis. Not the fanciest in the area, but cozy enough. The characters: A couple of couples on dates, a few waiters, and an anthropomorphisation of an abstract concept. Which concept is still unclear.
