Is it cliche to say it's cliche that I'm noting that I haven't posted in a while? Let's just assume that it goes without (non-meta-)saying.
I got into grad school. I've been offered a Masters or PhD research assistantship position at Maryland, some kind of maybe fellowship at Illinois, and a PhD position at Cornell. So I'm going to grad school, kids. This makes, like, my seventh job-type thing in two years or so.
I also discovered that you can order booze online from the District. Which means that I have, sitting next to me on my table, two different bottles of genever and a bottle of Herbsaint. I've also got three bottles of 2000 Bordeaux I picked up for a song and a bottle of Stone's, a ginger cordial that everyone loves, but doesn't know it yet. I'm cooking chicken piccata, lentil soup, and roasted beets. A professor from Illinois is going to call me in an hour and tell me why I should work for her.
