His death was very sudden and unexpected. He just didn't wake up.
I do keep busy. My boys are great. I should be seeing Zak on Wednesday (depends whether The Times lets him take off. He has a lot of responsibility now.) Aaron and his lovely wife Mary Cate I'll be seeing over Memorial Day weekend. Aarom, MC, her mom and I went to New Orleans a couple of months ago which was a blast.
New furnace, new hot water heater, all new bedroom funiture (I had to get a new bed for obvious reason and it kind of snowballed. But I really love it. Zak helped me decorate, he has an amazing eye for it)
Zak' s lawyer is currently doing labor law and eventually hopes to do civil rights litigation. He is very proud of her.
Zak is an art director so he hires illustrators based on how he thinks they would enhance a feature article and then much like an editor works with a writer, he works with the artist to improve it. And, he does that actual layout. He doesn't do too muc art himself at this point, but he's always preferred to be behind the scenes. He's the second youngest art director at the Times news division which is very cool. Everyone else is 6 years older or more.
