a moment in time
Journals are not easy to keep because I am not sure what is worthy of recording. I have no webpage, except this one; I have not done anything exceptional today, except to go to work and spend 10 hours paying as close attention as I can. I think about last thursday, when I was unable to make a complex cut with the circular saw. Today went better. Still, I know that the reason I was unable to make the cut was because I was not concentrating. I must have thought that it would just happen automatically. I think of Ed's words: "How ya gonna make the big bucks if you can't make that cut?" It woke me up. I thought about it all weekend. To make the big bucks I have to know how to do the great cuts and joins. It is not enough to just show up and be busy. It needs more. I apply this to my writing craft. It must be a craft to make the effect I desire. It requires more.....concentration.
